•May hire, train, and oversee junior staff in the department
•May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department
•Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
•Ensure accurate and timely processing of updates to payroll, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
•Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
•Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
•Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
•Identify and recommend updates to payroll software, systems, and procedures
•Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Experience:

•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
•1 year payroll systems experience required
•New hiring documentation (W-4s, I-9s, direct deposits, etc…) experience preferred
