We are seeking a seasoned and hands-on Director of Facilities to direct the running of our facilities and create a safe and efficient work environment that improves business performance and optimizes staff productivity. Duties for the director of facilities will include directing facilities functions, implementing policies and safety procedures, engaging with vendors and contractors, minimizing hazards, preparing facilities budgets and monitoring expenditure, coordinating refurbishment initiatives, testing equipment, forecasting needs, and ensuring compliance with zoning laws.
Your skills in managing facilities and directing facilities functions will assist our organization in creating integrated spaces, minimizing disruptions to overall business operations, improving working conditions, and creating a safe environment.
The ideal candidate for this role should possess good communication skills, excellent organizational skills, broad knowledge of business functions, and project management experience. The outstanding director of facilities must understand the technical aspects of the property, support day to day business operations, ensure efficient operation of facilities and mitigate risk.
Director of Facilities Responsibilities:
Oversee all building operations and major repairs in compliance with building code and requirements. (HVAC, Roof, Irrigation, Electrical, Cameras and Plumbing)
Ensure all city permits and inspections are secured in compliance with legal requirements. (fire, police, parking, elevator, irrigation systems and lighting)
Ensure building compliance for all facility audits property and liability insurance audits.
Select, engage and oversee all external contractors for building cleaning, waste disposal, refurbishing interior, plumbing, exterminators, landscape maintenance and special repairs
Maintain all records and bid information to ensure that all facility maintenance and operations are executed within approved budget.
Develop budgets and track short-term and long-term facility expenses, equipment and resource needs of company and staff
Ability to solve problems in a strategic and tactical manner and use good judgment in making decisions.
Ability to work independently, use self-initiated follow-up to meet deadlines and proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects concurrently.
